How To Get Your Grill Ready For Summer

Posted on June 9th, 2021 by Devine Bros

Summer means lots of outdoor activities, cookouts, friends, and family coming over to hang out on a lovely sunny day. But you can’t have any of that without having a BBQ! With summer right around the corner, it’s time to get your grill ready for some fun in the sun. Your grill probably needs a little TLC first, so here’s how to prepare it for use this season.

Give It a Good Scrubbing

Clean your grates thoroughly before cooking on them for the first time this season. Use steel wool or a scraper so that food doesn’t stick to them later on in the summer when grilling. You can also give it a good scrubbing with soap and water or even baking soda if you’re feeling extra-ambitious.

Important Pro-Grilling Tips

There are a few pro-grilling tips that many people forget after a few seasons of not using the barbecue. Here are some to keep in mind:

  • Cover any openings in the bottom of the grill with aluminum foil so that ashes don’t fall through onto whatever’s cooking below.
  • Season your grates with salt before using them for the first time; this will help prevent food from sticking.
  • After every use, wipe down the inside of the grill with a paper towel soaked in vegetable oil or cooking spray.

Check Your Tank

Last but certainly not least, make sure you check your tank to make sure you have enough propane! It’s important to make sure there’s enough gas, so you don’t run out when you’re cooking dinner on an empty tank.
