Easiest Troubleshooting Tips For Air Conditioners
Posted on August 20th, 2018 by Devine Bros
As a homeowner, it’s disheartening to know that your air conditioning system isn’t working the way it should. After all, you’ve spent a lot of money to have it installed, maintained, AND you pay a monthly bill! However, when things go wrong (and we assure you, as a homeowner, they will at some point) it’s important to be able to distinguish the big issues from the problems that can be fixed quickly. Below are a few troubleshooting tips you can try at home to see if you’re experiencing a quick fix or a larger problem.
Lack Of Airflow
Lack of airflow in your air conditioning unit can be due to a number of reasons. One of the first places to look would usually be your ducts, to make sure that nothing’s gotten in the way, preventing the air from flowing out. Your next step would also be the outside unit if you have one. The purpose of this is to make sure that conversely, nothing is in the way of that, which pulls the air into your home. This can be detrimental to your unit and cause premature failure. IF neither of these are happening, it’s probably time to call someone to have it looked at.
Lack of Power/Cool Air
One of the first things to think about when you’re not getting power or cool air is the last time you had your AC unit tuned up for use! This can be as easy as making a call to someone who can help perform a yearly tune-up for you. If you’ve had a tune-up and are still experiencing an issue with your A/C unit, it might be a good idea to make a call regardless, as something else can be getting in the way.
If you’re overdue for an air conditioning tune-up or cleaning, make sure you’re good and ready to begin the process of scheduling your next tune-up with someone who can help!
