Protect Your Home From Halloween

Posted on October 30th, 2017 by Devine Bros

It’s one thing to head out on Halloween and enjoy yourself — but sometimes it can get to be a little too much. When younger children and teenagers head out on the spookiest night of the year, their intentions are sometimes to wreak havoc on neighbors and homes in their areas. While you can’t stay up all night waiting, there are a few things you can do to help protect your home on Halloween — here are a few below!

Motion Lights

To keep people off of your property, consider having motion lights installed on the property. When these fixtures sense someone heading up the walkway or onto your grass, the bright lights will turn on, and hopefully deter anyone from continuing on. This can help protect trees from toilet paper and siding from eggs and shaving cream.

Soda & Vinegar

Your paving stones are extremely important to keep clean, just like your home is. Unfortunately, thrown eggs can really get in the way of that, and it’s important to make sure they’re protected during the season. Should you find this on your paving stone or concrete, dump a bit of cola or vinegar onto the area and let it sit. Place a cloth over the affected area and something heavy to apply pressure. This will help lift the stain from your concrete. After a 15-minute waiting period, remove the items and brush the affected area in a circular motion to remove the stain.

The spooky holiday can be a mess to deal with sometimes, between candy and cleanup — but with these quick tips, protecting your home from the scares of halloween is a thing of the past!
